AU vs. Ole Miss.....9-0 :)

What a treat to finally have an Auburn game that was w/in a 2 hour drive from our house!! My dad and his friend, Danny, stayed with us this weekend and went to cheer on the Tigers with us. We missed my mom, who was at home with a broken arm :( Bless her heart; she broke it at school this week. We missed her, but look forward to seeing her AU/UGA weekend.

We enjoyed some time on the square and lunch at Proud Larrys. Everything I have eaten there is always good...calzones, burgers, salads, etc. We then headed to The Grove, which I love!!! We were able to visit Chip and Rachel's tailgate and the Pettit's tailgates...thanks so much for your hospitality :) I wish we could have spent all day there b/c I enjoy visits to Ole Miss so much. It was a great day and I'm glad we pulled out an impressive win.

Enjoying The Grove!

Visiting Whitney in The Grove.....football rivals can be friends too (ha)

I'm afraid my blue didn't look navy enough. My pants had orange in them...I guess that counts! An Auburn fan came up to me I told me I had a beautiful campus. Guess I need re-think my outfit next time.

Dad and me

Ready for game time!!

Happy Halloween and War Eagle!!!

Radley would like to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and also a big WAR EAGLE!!!

Loving Football Season!!

Our weekends lately have been filled with LOTS of football. We managed to not only go to Auburn for the LSU game, but squeezed in a high school game as well on Friday. We left MS early on Friday and headed to Heflin, AL to watch the Cleburne County Tigers (Jason's alma mater) take on Oneonta. They won and landed a spot in the 4A playoffs!! Both our dads went with us and we had a great time. Jason had not been to a game at Heflin in years, so I know he enjoyed reminiscing about his day as #74 for the CCHS Tigers. Although I was not around during those years, I hear he was quite the football player. I'll even brag on him and mention that he made All-State and they made it to the State Championship game in 1994(unfortunatley they lost to TR Miller of Brewton). Too bad we weren't a couple then...I could have worn his class ring and letterman jacket (haha)...maybe not!!

Saturday we were on to AU to see the clash of two unbeaten Tigers. Those 2:30 games don't leave a lot of time to visit everyone I'd like. I'm hoping UGA will be a night game. We were able to hang out with The Saxon's, our sweet friends from Montgomery, before the game. After watching a BIG WIN over the "other" Tigers, we headed to Toomer's Corner. We didn't participate in the "rolling", but managed to get a few pictures. Although I have often dreaded the drive this season, I'm so thankful we decided to keep our tickets this year. The atmosphere in Jordan Hare has been like no other season (not even 2004). War Eagle!! Now I'm ready for Ole Miss and short drive to see my Tigers play!

**also a big thanks to Jason's parents for keeping our dog, Radley, while we go to all these AU games. Radley even made his debut at their Halloween party this weekend as a bumble bee. I'll have to steal a picture from his mom or sister**

Our weekends have been so busy lately, I have failed to get hardly any pictures. I've posted the only ones I took all weekend below.

Fabulous Fall

Like I said in previous post- I love fall!!! We've been out of town so much for football games that I haven't had time to pick out the perfect pumpkin or mums!! I had grand plans of Jason and I heading to the local nursery to pick out mums and to get a big pumpkin.... well, that didn't quite happen. He had to work a little late Monday and I was anxious to get a fall display out (better late than never) So where did I head to....good ole Wal-Mart. Picking out my pumpkins out of a huge cardboard box wasn't exactly what I pictured when going pumpkin shopping. I was thinking riding on a hayride, sipping some apple cider, etc. But, hey, it worked and I was pleasantly suprised!! I also landed a fake bale of hay, an $8 scarecrow and 2 mums. Maybe next year I can put a little more time it. I managed to take some shots of Radley as well!!

Hope everyone is enjoying your fall!

It's great to be an Auburn Tiger!!

Since Auburn is having such a great season, we could not resist heading to Alabama last weekend to watch Auburn take on Arkansas. I'm so glad we did b/c we witnessed AU score 65 points against Arkansas. Can you believe it, 65-43!! They set an SEC record for scoring the most points in a SEC vs. SEC game that was not in overtime. (I'm 99.5% that comment is correct). During the game, I asked my dad if he had ever seen this kind of score before....he said the last time they scored that many points was against Florida State and I was about 3-4 yrs. old. He also said that during that game I looked at him and said "Daddy, isn't it great to be an Auburn Tiger!!". Well, after all these years I still feel the same way. There is nothing like being around my Auburn family on fall Saturdays. The game was too exciting to stop and take pictures, but we managed to capture this one thanks to our friends that sit behind us. War Eagle!!!

Girls Weekend!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: 10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

Brooke, Lesley and me

In this case I guess you could say three are better than two!! I've been blessed with some dear friends throughout each stage in my life (childhood, college, adulthood, etc.) I'm very fortunate to call Lesley and Brooke my lifelong best friends. I've known Brooke pretty much since birth and Lesley since 4th grade. They probably know me better than most (the good and the bad) and still love me the way I am. It is such a blessing to know that no matter what, these girls will always be there.

With us all living in different cities, we don't see each other as often as we'd like. It was so nice to re-connect this weekend, share old stories, and of course do A LOT of shopping. We started bright and early shopping at Brookwood Village and then to The Summit. We managed to squeeze in some lunch at Zoes...it was so yummy!!

After a long day of shopping, we ventured to Harpersville, AL (about 20 min south of Bham) to Morgan Creek Winery. If you are familiar with Old Baker Farm Pumpkin Patch...it is beside it. The weather was so beautiful and we wanted to enjoy the outdoors, but thought we were a little too old for the pumpkin patch (ha). Lesley had heard from a few people how nice Morgan Creek was, so we thought we'd check it out. Even if you have no care for wine, it is a nice place to spend a beautiful fall afternoon.

The main shop at Morgan Creek. They will give you tours and it is all free!

I loved the grounds of Morgan Creek :)

After this picture we found a swing under a tree and just took in the beauty of the place. It was so relaxing and peaceful.

After our fun day of shopping, we ended the evening with dinner at Chuy's at The Summit. They are based out of Texas and serve TEX-MEX food. I had the shrimp BAJA tacos...very good and reasonable!!

I'm already looking forward to our spring/summer girls weekend at Ross Bridge!! Now back to the real world :( At least I have today off!!

Wonderful Weekends in MS

As much as we enjoy being on the go and going to Auburn games, it was just as nice to stay home this weekend. We have been to three AU home games this fall and it is only Oct. 3....so that tells you how much we've been gone. It was so nice to get off on Friday and be able to come home, relax and unwind. Our weekend started off by enjoying the cool weather on the deck Friday evening.

Of course Radley is enjoying the cooler weather as well :)

He is so very observant and enjoys nature (haha)

We enjoyed sleeping in on Saturday and watching lots of football!! It was nice to watch an AU game and not feel like I was going to have a heart attack (ha). We watched the TN/LSU game next and of course were pulling for TN. LSU is one of my least favorite teams in the SEC (a close 2nd to Bama)....some days I may even like Bama better than LSU. I have decided that Les Miles must be living right or has 9 lives b/c he is the luckiest coach EVER!! Poor TN and Coach Dooley, my heart ached for them, but I think every SEC team has experienced that against LSU.

We cooked out and watched the Bama game with some friends on Saturday night. I was hoping that the Gators would pull it through, but my hopes were shattered turn over after turn over. Since I doubt Bama will lose another game, I'm hoping for a match up of two undefeated teams when they play AU in November : )

Although the Bama and LSU games were lows of the weekend, they were all forgotten today when we arrived at Annandale Golf Club in Madison for the Viking Classic PGA tour.

It was a gorgeous day to be outside and this course was a great place to experience the outdoors. No cameras were allowed, so unfortunately I didn't get to document our fun. However, we did enjoy a delicious Sunday buffet, Viking cooking school demonstrations and saw some great golf.

We ended our wonderful weekend by spending some quality time our precious dog, Radley, this evening. It is always a joy to come home to this precious furry creature. He always brightens up our day :)

My only complaint is that I wished weekends lasted longer, but I'm so very thankful for them and the time it allows me to spend with my husband, family and friends. I'm so blessed to have them all :)
