1st few weeks pics (a little late)

I'm going to back up a little bit to Patton's 1st month at home.  I was having some computer issues when I did my Patton post after his birth and it was taking forever to post my pics.  I found an easier way to post them now from my picasa albums.  Here are some pics from his 1st few weeks at home (no particular order).......

Beach Baby!!

The title is actually a little deceiving, it should read "Pool Baby" since we only ventured to the pool and never made it to the beach.  An 11 week old and the beach aren't the best combination and we knew that before we went, so we weren't too disappointed when we weren't basking on the beach from 10-2 everday.

Jason has a VERY busy July coming up at work and there is little chance of us going anywhere fun for a while.  We love to travel and haven't been anywhere (othen than AL) since this past fall due to pregnancy, so we've been DYING to get out of town for a little R&R.  My parents offered to help us the 1st time we headed to the beach to allow us some alone time, but it didn't work out b/c they had a cruise planned the only weekend we could go, so we made the venture by ourselves, but it worked out great.

Patton was a little trooper!!  Although we saw the beach, we never actually took him on the beach. We will save that for our next trip. We opted for late afternoons by the pool (under the shade) and early morning strolls around SanDestin and Baytowne. We did a little outlet shopping one day and explored the shops at Seaside another day.  We made the most of our trip with an 11 week old and found plenty things to do other than the beach.  I love the atmosphere of being at the beach,  but I'm more of a pool person anyway.

It was great little getaway and our first vacation as a family of three :)  We can't wait to go back in September....cooler weather, less crowds and hopefully Patton will be able to enjoy it a little more.

New Job!!

Well, it's official, I have a new job- STAY AT HOME MOM :)  It was a little scary leaving the workforce after having a full-time job for almost the past 10 years, but I'm so excited about this next chapter in our lives. I never knew staying at home, fixing bottles, changing diapers and playing with a newborn could be so fulfulling, but it is!!  One of my very best friends that stays at home with her two little girls always told me that working full time was so much easier and I never really believed her, but I definitely know what she means now.  It is hard some days, but so worth it!!! I'm so thankful for my wonderful husband, Jason, that works so hard so that I can care for our precious Patton  full time.  What an AWESOME blessing!!!

The day our lives changed forever and for the better!!!!!

Two Months and other happenings!!

Patton turned 2 months on June 2nd!! Wow, where has the time gone :(  He is changing before our eyes and developing a precious personality. He loves to smile, laugh and follows us with his eyes. He also enjoys entertaining himself on his activity mat.  He is not a consistent day napper, but he sleeps anywhere from 10:30/11:00 at night until 6:00/6:30 am.....which I LOVE!!!!   He is still a pretty content baby except when he is ready to eat. It is amazing how he can go from angel baby to screaming his head off in ZERO seconds.  Although he loves to eat, he is still pretty small.  Here are his stats from his check up on June 5th:

Weight: 10 lbs, 4 1/2 ounces (25% percentile)
Length:  21 3/4 inches (20% percentile)
Head: 15 3/4 inches (50 % percentile)

Maybe he will grow into his head one day ~ ha!!   And if you see him in the same outfit in every picture, please know he does have other clothes.....he just hasn't quite grown into many of his 3 month clothes.  I bought some precious 3 month Jon Jons and Bubbles and they all swallow him whole. Jason and I were both, "good sized" babies, so I just assumed Patton would be on the "bigger" side (ha)!!  However, as I'm typing this on June 21st, he is chunking up quite a bit  and the newborn clothes are getting a little snug :)

We stayed quite busy since my last post. Jason was in Baton Rouge/LSU the last two weeks of May for banking school. He had committed to banking school before Patton was born and we didn't realize how hard it would be to be apart for that time :(  It's a 3 year program (this was his 1st year), so we thought it was best to start now. I guess once kids come along, no time is really ever going to be a good time.  We made it through it with face time on the IPAD and phone calls!!  We also got to see each other the weekend between 1st and 2nd week of school.

The last week of May (his 2nd week of school), Patton and I got brave and drove to AL all by ourselves!!!  My parents offered to come get us, but I am 31 years old-ha!, and figured I could manage.  So far he is a great traveler. We made it all the way to Tuscaloosa and we stopped and had a dinner date at Panera Bread and I fed him.  We loaded back in the car and made it all the way to Oxford and Patton slept the entire way.   We had a great week at home visiting with friends and family.  It was a bit of a contrast from doing EVERYTHING by myself the 1st week to my Mom & Dad doing almost everything for Patton the next week.  I enjoyed the break and I know they enjoyed doting on him.

Patton also got to spend some time with Jason's parents, met his Great-Grandmother (my Mom's Mom), his Aunt Virigina and cousin Amy came to visit from Montgomery, my dad's sister and brother both came to visit, as well as many other close family friends.  He also got to spend some time with his cousins, Matti and Jack, and Aunt Staci (Jason's sister).  It was very BUSY week and he managed all the visitors pretty well.  Although it was nice to see so much family, it was wonderful to get back to MS and be together as a family of 3 again :)

Unfortunately I only gone one pic when I was in Alabama. I definitely wanted one of Patton meeting his Great-Grandmother and managed to get that. We were so busy visiting family/friends the camera never made it out.  Maybe my Dad needs to blog b/c he may have more pictures/videos of Patton than I do.....for my friends that know him well, I'm sure that is not suprising :)  I think it is wonderful!!!

Here are some recent pics.......

What would we do without the MamaRoo???

Sadly, I look like this most days :(

I wished I looked more like this everyday, but I consider it a good day if I manage one shower :)

Always gives us a smile after he is changed!!

Jason and Patton.....we finally managed to make it to church!

A lazy Saturday afternoon

So serious

I've promised Patton he won't wear day gowns forever :)

All dressed up for Mommy's birthday dinner in Jackson

Love this precious baby sooooooo much!!! I can't imagine life without him.

As  Jason says, I'm pretty much AWESOME!!!!
