Bathroom Renovations Complete!

If you’ll go back a few posts you can see the before pics of our bathrooms. I’m happy to say the remodeling is complete and we are extremely pleased with the results!! After having workers in and out of the house for almost two months (remember the kitchen and nursery)….we’ve decided that other projects can wait for a few months.

We absolutely love the way the nursery turned out!!! (one of my Feb post has some before pics) We still have a few things to add to the shelves, but it is basically completed. We can’t wait to bring our sweet bundle of joy to his new room!!

Shower #3- Kosy

It is hard to believe I’ve been a MS resident for a little over two years. Although my new hometown may be lacking a Starbucks, hip restaurants or entertainment, it definitely isn’t lacking in sweet, genuine people!!! Jason and I both have been extremely blessed to have met wonderful friends, great neighbors, co-workers, etc. The people of this town really make it a great place and have made what could have been a very difficult move, quite enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong, I do miss Starbucks and other luxuries, but I wouldn’t trade the friends we have made here for anything. It is very comforting to know that we are surrounded by so many people that would do anything for us. Some sweet girlfriends threw me a little shower the last Sunday in February at RedBud Springs Golf Club. It doesn’t get more Mayberry than RedBud does it (ha)!! The food was divine, the gifts precious and the company so much fun. Thanks girls for all you did for Patton!

Wonderful food and Rachel's famous punch recipe :)

Getting ready to open gifts!

Can't wait to see Patton in this outfit....too cute :)

The hostesses and some of my sweet MS friends: Anna Middleton, Kayla Vance, Rachel Hawkins and Whitney Pettit.

Thanks to JJ too....she was at home w/ a sick baby :( We missed her, but sure enjoyed her homemade cheese straws!!

Some of the cute gifts from the shower!!

I think Patton is all set :)

Shower # 2- Montgomery

After 1 ½ days of fun in Oxford/Anniston and an awesome shower, we loaded up Saturday afternoon and headed to Montgomery for shower # 2. My mom’s sister/family wanted to give me a shower as well and it was a great opportunity to spend time with our Montgomery family, as well as friends we made during our 3 years we lived there, and college friends who live in South Alabama. On Sat. night our sweet friends, Jennifer and Michael, hosted a little get together complete with steaks and 2xs baked potatoes from Peppertree. I was too busy inhaling my food and catching up to take any pics. Many of our weekends in Montgomery were spent cooking out steaks from Peppertree…..I really miss that place :(.

The shower was Sunday afternoon at my Aunt Virginia’s and it was perfect!! Once again, I realized how fortunate I am to have such sweet, generous friends and family. It was an very dreary day and some friends from college drove as far as Dothan for the shower. It made me feel so special that they would come that far for me on such a miserable, rainy day. After a fun filled weekend, two showers and lots of quality time spent with friends/family we headed back to MS on Monday with a loaded down car. Our car was so loaded down, my dad had to drive to MS as well to help carry the gifts- a good problem to have :) Enjoy the pics….

My cousin, Amy, made the adorable diaper cake :)

Schuyler (who just had a baby boy- she looks great!), Jill, Katie and Julie.....so great to catch up with these sweet friends!

Skinny girls and the pregnant girl (ha)!

Jennifer, me, Emily (expecting baby # 3 in July) and Rachel. I believe it is definitley the year for babies!! Among my high school, college, Montgomery and MS friends...I can think of at least 25 people that are pregnant or had babies in the last 6 mos- WOW!!

My Aunt Virginia and Grandma- so sweet of them to host such a lovely shower!!

The gifts keep coming...

1st cousins on my Mom's side of family: Lorian, me, Amber and Amy. Sweet of Amber to drive all the way from Savannah, GA.

Mom, me and Virginia

Hated to see the weekend come to an end. Celebrating the upcoming arrival of Patton with some of my dearest friends and family :) I can't think of a better way to spend a 4 day weekend!!

Patton's Showers

I decided I better catch up on my blogging before precious Patton arrives!! I’m now at 35 weeks and the nursery is completed, bathroom renovations are done, baby clothes/blankets/socks, etc. washed, showers finished….you get the picture. I’m so thankful to be finished with all the prep work b/c my 2nd trimester energy has definitely gone away. The tiredness kicked back in about two weeks ago and to top things off I’ve been battling a cold/sinus infection that has really worn me down :( Now I’m trying to learn to relax these last few weeks (which is hard for me) and to enjoy my last days/weeks of no parental responsibilities.

I’ll start off my 1st post with Patton’s showers. We have been blessed with three wonderful showers!!! They all began President’s Day weekend. Our 1st shower was in Anniston at the home of Rhonda Griffith. Her daughter, Brooke is one of my very best friends and our families have been friends for years. They are very special people to me and were so generous to give us a great shower. Other dear friends from all stages of life….childhood, college, and family friends helped host the event as well. Of course the gifts were great, but I most enjoyed spending time with friends and family that I don’t get to see often. Events like these make me realize how fortunate I am to have all these people in my life. Although I’m not able to see them as much as I’d like, I know that they will always be there for me, no matter how far we live apart. Below are some pics from the shower…..

1st time to meet Brooke's new baby, Hudson. What a doll!! He made an appearance at the end of the shower.

Haylea's new baby, Calder Adaire arrived in January. Haylea, Calder and her mom, Jane were so sweet to drive from Huntsville with a 5 week old :)

Some of my favorite girls!

My cousin, Lauren and her daughter, McKenzie. So good to see them :)

Lots of great gifts!!

More gifts :)

Catherine and Haylea....two great friends from AU. So thankful to have them in my life!

Me w/ Matti, Kathy and Staci (Jason's niece, mom and sister) Thankful for sweet in-laws!
