Although we were gone for maybe about 5 hours, I hated to leave him :( I have friends who rarely leave their children and I never understood why.....well, I do now!! So many things my friends with children do totally makes sense to me now. As hard as it is to leave him and will be to leave him, Jason and I do want to make it a priority to have some alone time. He is trying to work on our a 5 yr. anniversary trip for November and I'm already nervous about leaving him then. I've become that over protective parent I never said I would be.....oh well....live and learn!!!

Date Night!!
Although Patton has always behaved pretty well at restaurants, I can never truly enjoy my meal b/c I'm always on "pins and needles" waiting for the crying to begin. Jason and I had a night out back in May for a friend's engagement party, but have not had a nice dinner out since Patton was born. My parents were in town a few weekends ago and we took advantage of their visit. We headed down to Madison to Local 463 and it was a treat!!! It was one of those meals you never want to end, atmosphere great, etc. Here are a few pics before our night out..

Patton likes to eat out :)
Our June was packed full of events....beach, weekend in AL, hosted Supper Club, etc. I like to stay busy and of course life has slowed down a bit with Patton, but we still seem to manage. July has been a bit slower, but it is nice to slow down from time to time. Jason has a had a BUSY month at work to say the least. He has had to put in some weekend hours so we've been staying close to home. With this hot weather staying in has been welcomed!! After looking at some recent pics, I realized they are always at eating establishments--haha!! I promise we do more than eat out, but this month I guess we've done it more than we should. We will be putting in some extra hours at the gym :)
Most of our past 4th's have been spent at the lake, beach, hanging out with family, etc. This 4th was a little
different- it was on Wed, Jason had to work the day before and the day following, my sweet Grandma had a heart cath that week (no blockage found!!!) and my Dad left for a mission trip on the 4th. Therefore no fun family activities....so we celebrated by eating at PF Changs in Jackson -ha!! Nothing says Happy Bday America than Spring Rolls and Soy Sauce. At least Patton got to wear his cute Patriotic JON JON!!!
Patton's 1st experience at UMI...our favorite SUSHI place. And NO, he didn't eat anys sushi, but is practicing with the chop sticks!!
We tried the new Sombre Mexican Kitchen in Ridgeland after church on Sunday. It is WONDERFUL...real authentic Mexican food. My friend Rachel (from Houston) needs to go b/c being from TX you know what real MEX food is all about it!!
Hopefully after it cools off some, we will be in places other than restaurants. We tried to stroll last night and it was way TOOO hot (even at 7). I love summer, but I'm looking forward to FALL!!!!
Jeremy's Wedding Reception
I went home the last weekend in June to celebrate of my very best friends, Jeremy's, recent wedding. He and his adorable bride, Brittany got married in Key West the 1st weekend in June. Only their immediate family went, but we all celebrated with them back in good ole Oxford, AL. I was so blessed growing up to have such a sweet group of friends. Being back home that weekend reminded me of that. Jeremy is the only one out of our group that still lives there, so we came from all over...Nashville, Birmingham and Huntsville to celebrate him and the sweet friendships we all share. I pray that Patton develops sweet lifelong friendships that I have been fortunate enough to have.
Leslie, Lesley and Abby
I had all intentions of getting a group pic w/ our kiddos. This was the 1st time for a lot of people to meet Patton. However, this was the weekend it reached like 100 degrees and Patton made it for about 30 min into the party. He said his hellos and my parents took him back home. My sweet friend Brooke isn't in these pics b/c she headed home w/ baby Hudson for the same reason. Life and events are definitely different with babies in tow :)
Us with Jeremy...aka...Miami Vice!! Jeremy was definitley born to live in CALI or South Florida. He is one of a kind and that is why we love him :)
This pic is actually from Nick and Dana's wedding last summer, but the only one I have of the cutest couple ever. They are bound to have some cute babies!!! Best wishes Brittany and Jeremy :)
Patton 3 months
As I write this our precious little Patton is now 15 weeks old. He turned 3 months on July 2nd and boy what a difference a month makes. He is becoming much more alert and LOVES to be held. He does pretty well during the day being put down and taking naps, but when 5:00 rolls around and Daddy gets home he wants all his attention. Of course we both think it is sweet and adorable, but it can be hard when we need to do something (like eat dinner-ha)!! Three months has brought the following:
~Laughing out Loud and Smiling A LOT...which we love. However, he gets very serious when I bring the camera out, so I'm having some issues catching those smiles with a photo.
~He rolled over for the first time (left and to the right) on July 5th. I don't think Jason believed me at first b/c he waited another few days before he did it again for Jason, but he is pretty consistent now and rolls over every time we put him down for tummy time.
~Grabs everything, especially his rings on his activity mat/gym
~Still sleeps from about 10:00 pm to 6:00 am every morning. He occasionally will sleep until 7, which we LOVE, but 6:00 is pretty much his wake up time now.
~Drinks about 30 oz. a day (6 oz. 5xs a day). We're looking forward to trying rice cereal at 4 months.
~Making lots of what I call "Boy Noises" w/ his mouth.....blowing bubbles, drooling, etc. I love these sweet little noises.
Overall he is a sweet and happy baby. He has a fussy day about once a week and it is usually due to a tummy ache AKA gas :( I think boys must be gassier than boys?? We love our little Patton to pieces and are enjoying every little stage. He won't be a baby for long, so I'm trying to savor each moment!!!
