30 weeks and renovations

Hello Blog Friends!! January is usually a slow month for us, but has been quite busy for the Pope family. It seems much of it has revolved around all things BABY, which I better get used to b/c that is the way life is about to be.

Regarding little Patton. Here are a few things we’ve done this month….
~4D sonogram: looked great!!
~Glucose test: passed :)
~Childbirth Class: very informative
~30 weeks appointment/sonogram: he looks perfect and weighs about 3 lbs 13 oz. The Dr. said he could be going through a growth spurt or he may be a big baby. We will see?? I'm measuring at about 32 weeks

I’m still feeling great, just getting bigger and a little more uncomfortable. It definitely is no fun carrying around this extra weight, but at the same time, it has given me extra motivation to get it off!! I hope baby Patton loves to stroll b/c I plan on doing a lot of walking come May. I hope to start running and biking again. I really enjoy exercising with Jason b/c he is a good motivator, but I guess we will be exercising in shifts now.

As of now NOTHING has been done to the nursery. It makes my blood pressure rise just thinking about it b/c I usually I’m very OCD about these type things. However, in about 2 to 3 weeks we plan for it to all come together. Furniture, bedding, etc. has been here for a few weeks, but we don’t want to paint the nursery until our bathroom renovations are done in that room.

Our renovations currently involve two bathrooms. The original master bedroom and attached bath is currently lime green/purple. Not only are the colors horrible, but the bathroom had not been touched since the house was built in 1978. Picture a green one piece bath unit with jets…yes jets. I didn’t know they made jetted bathtubs in the late 70s. I’m sure it was a grand bathroom at one time. The room has been used for storage since we moved in 2 yrs ago and we always said we would wait and deal with it when we get pregnant and convert it to a nursery. So here we are at 30 weeks pregnant w/ a nursery in complete disarray. However, the bathroom renovations should be completed by early next week!!! Once they are completed, the painters will come and transform the lime and purple to a very light powder blue and light gold/color.

Here a few pics of the current nursery/bathroom. I will definitely post some after pics. They also recently replaced our ugly kitchen tile countertops with a beautiful granite and re-did the backsplash.....which I love!!! I'll start the pics off w/our completed project....the kitchen!

New granite, backsplash and hardware. They still have to come back and do some minor trimwork and fit the switchplates for the outlets.

Originally wanted a farm house sink, but sometimes you can't have it all-ha!! Not to mention the stainless one was much cheaper!!!

View from upstairs...

The nursery aka the bike room, storage room....pretty much where we throw junk!

Picture light powder blue walls, with goldish paint behind shelves and on ceiling. Can't wait to post the final product!!

Tub is in...next is the floors/shower wall to be tiled.

The vanity was replaced when our kitchen countertops were installed. Very pleased with it!

Can't wait to see the new cabinet doors installed :)

New tile awaits the floors.

We decided to also re-do the guest bath upstairs. So far new vanity and tub is in.

waiting on new tile for floors and shower wall

Patton's baby bedding :)

Always have loved toile!

Valances for nursery :)

Plan to post the final results sooner than later!!! Hopefully by 3rd week in February. So far I have tried to be patient with this mess, but my patience decreases with each week I gain in pregnancy. Note to self...schedule renovations 1st trimester. Lesson learned :)

26 weeks

So I'll admit I have not been the best at documenting my growth. I know many of my friends take pictures each week of their growing stomachs. Sadly, this is the first official "belly shot" I have. I have taken pictures since my pregnancy, but usually something is covering my stomach or they are chest up pics. We decided Sunday we'd do a little photo shoot so I would have some proof for Patton that I was pregnant and did carry him...haha. I've decided from here on out, I will do this each week until I deliver, but don't worry, I'm not going to bore you with weekly updates (haha)!!

After seeing these pics, I realized how much I have grown. I seemed to have popped out overnight!

Notice Harper had to participate

Jason and I took one together, but it looked a little too much like we were about to head to the homecoming dance and his date was pregnant. I'll save those pics for our on viewing!!

Happy New Year!!

We decided to celebrate New Year's Eve in Atlanta by watching AU defeat VA in the Chick-Fil-A bowl. What a great way to ring in the New Year with an AU victory!!

New Year's Day we enjoyed church with my parents and a delicious New Year's brunch at Classic on Noble. Seriously, if you are ever in Anniston you must go this place....best brunch EVER!! Check out their website www.classiconnoble.com. Our wedding reception was held here, so it is always a special treat to go back.

After brunch we all hit up the Dillard's sale and got Patton lots of clothes.....which is always fun!! I never understood why my parent's found joy in taking me shopping and not buying things for themselves. Well, after 30 years I totally understand. I find so much more joy in buying Patton clothes than myself and he isn't even here yet.

Monday we got up bright and early and headed back to MS. Enjoyed an evening of football and being lazy!!! Always hate to see the holidays come to an end, but it is great to get back into a schedule.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!
